Casio Watch Lug Sizes -- The Complete Guide to Every Popular Model

Casio Watch Lug Sizes -- The Complete Guide to Every Popular Model

One question comes up more than any other in the Casio watch community: what size strap fits my Casio?

It sounds simple, but it isn’t. Casio makes hundreds of models across dozens of series, and the lug width is rarely printed on the watch or listed clearly in the specs. Buyers guess, order the wrong strap, and end up frustrated.

This guide fixes that. It covers the most popular Casio models we work with at CasioStrapClub and shows you how to measure any Casio in under a minute.

What Is Lug Width?

Lug width is the distance in millimetres between the two lugs, the metal or resin horns at the top and bottom of the case where the strap attaches. It is the single most important measurement when buying a replacement strap or adapter.

Get the lug width right and everything else is easy. Get it wrong and nothing fits.

The three most common Casio lug widths are 18mm, 20mm and 22mm.

18mm Casio Watches

18mm is the most common lug width across Casio’s vintage and digital lines, and it covers many of the most popular models Casio has ever made.

  • Casio F91W and its color variants
  • Casio A158W
  • Casio A159W
  • Casio A168W, including the A168WA silver and A168WG gold
  • Casio AE-1200WH Royale, including the AE-1200WHD steel version

A note on the AE-1200WH Royale: the Royale has an 18mm lug but a 42mm wide case. A standard 18mm strap can look narrow against it, which is why our 18mm to 22mm adapters are such a popular upgrade for this model. They let you wear a 22mm strap that fills out the case.

Want a wider strap on any 18mm Casio? Our 18mm to 20mm adapters and 18mm to 22mm adapters open up the much larger 20mm and 22mm strap markets.

20mm Casio Watches

Several popular Casios use a native 20mm lug, including some vintage-style models.

  • Casio CA-53W calculator watch
  • Casio MTP-M305 moon phase

Our 20mm to 22mm adapters let you step up to a bolder 22mm strap on these models.

22mm Casio Watches

The 22mm lug is common on Casio’s larger sport and dive models.

  • Casio Duro MDV-106 and its color variants
  • Casio Duro MDV-107

Our 22mm to 20mm adapters let you wear a sleeker 20mm strap on these watches.

A note on G-Shock, Pro Trek and Edifice: many of these models use Casio-specific band mounts instead of standard lugs, so a regular strap may not fit even if the width looks right. Message us with your exact model number before you order.

How to Measure Your Casio Lug Width

Not sure which size you have? Here are three ways to find out.

Method 1: Measure your strap. Measure the width of your current strap right where it meets the case. On most watches with a standard strap, that number is your lug width.

Method 2: Use calipers. Measure the inside distance between the two lugs at the top of the watch. Digital calipers are inexpensive at any hardware store and give a precise reading in seconds. This is the most accurate method.

Method 3: Check the case back. Find the model number on your watch (often printed on the case back or the original box) and look it up in this guide. If your model is not listed, message us at CasioStrapClub with the exact model number and we will reply within 24 hours.

What to Do Once You Know Your Lug Width

Wear a strap in your size. If you’re happy with your watch’s native width, choose a strap that matches it exactly.

Go wider with adapters. Our 18mm to 20mm, 18mm to 22mm, and 20mm to 22mm adapters let you wear a wider strap. This is especially popular on the AE-1200WH Royale.

Go slimmer with adapters. Our 22mm to 20mm adapters let you wear a 20mm strap on watches like the Casio Duro.
